This Amp is clean. Both Channels are crystal clear. The second channel has a chime that I have not heard in an amp before. It also has a distortion knob but as it is one of the original pedal platform amplifiers(before "Pedal Platform" amps existed) I would generally use a pedal for Overdrive/Distortion pedal out front. at 39 years old the condition is "Excellent".

A 1987 Roland JC-120 is a mid-80s production of the legendary 120-watt, 2×12 solid-state combo. Renowned for producing some of the industry's most pristine, uncolored clean tones, it remains highly sought after by collectors and gigging musicians alike.

Core Features
  • Dual Power Amps: Features two independent 60-watt power amplifiers driving two 12-inch speakers.
  • Dimensional Space Chorus: The very first Roland JC-120 introduced the lush analog chorus effect to the guitar world by modulating one speaker and leaving the other dry.
  • Classic Design: The late 80s models continued the classic formula with the iconic silver-cone speakers, a built-in vibrato/chorus circuit, and rugged heavy-duty construction.
Specs & Tone
  • Channels: Two independent channels. Channel 1 features a Bright switch and 3-band EQ. Channel 2 adds a built-in Distortion circuit, Reverb, and the legendary Chorus/Vibrato effect.
  • No Master Volume: The JC-120 does not have a global master volume; it relies strictly on channel volumes.
  • Maintenance: Being entirely solid-state, it lacks the tubes required for traditional overdrive or tube-warmth, making it exceptionally reliable and structurally stable over time.
